APTOS THREAD LIFTING
Thread Lifting in Sydney
If you are considering treatment for changes in facial contours or skin laxity, thread lifting may be one option discussed during consultation. It is a higher-risk non-surgical cosmetic procedure in which absorbable threads are placed beneath the skin to reposition and support tissue in selected areas.
The placement of the threads is planned according to the patient’s anatomy and the degree of support being considered. Once placed, the threads provide structural support before gradually being absorbed by the body over time. Thread lifting cannot produce the same degree of change as surgery, and the response and duration vary between patients.

YOUR CONSULTATION
Planning Your Procedure
During your face-to-face consultation, Dr Ho will ask what you would like to address and assess your facial anatomy, skin condition and medical history. Areas that may be considered include the forehead, brows, cheeks, jawline and neck, depending on the support required and whether thread lifting is appropriate.
The procedure is planned individually rather than using the same placement for every patient. Dr Ho will explain the proposed treatment areas, what the procedure involves and the degree of change that may realistically be possible.
Thread lifting will not be recommended if your anatomy, skin condition, medical history or expectations make it unsuitable. Dr Ho may discuss a different approach or advise that no treatment is appropriate.

BEFORE YOU DECIDE
Risks and Recovery
Thread lifting carries potential risks, including pain, swelling, bruising, infection, asymmetry, skin irregularities, visible or palpable threads, thread movement and the need for further treatment. In some circumstances, a thread may need to be adjusted or removed. This is not an exhaustive list, and individual risks depend on the areas being treated and the planned procedure.
Recovery also varies between patients. Some swelling, bruising, tenderness or temporary changes in the treated area may occur following the procedure. Dr Ho will explain the expected recovery, aftercare requirements, warning signs and when to contact the clinic before you decide whether to proceed.
Individual results vary. No specific outcome or duration can be guaranteed.
